Maria Eduarda Couto Dourado

Maria Eduarda is a second-year M.A. student in the Developmental Psychology program at Teachers College, Columbia University. She graduated with a double major in Biology (B.S.) and Psychology (B.S.). During her time at Lynn University, Maria worked in Dr. Kimberly Rowlands' lab analyzing Drosophila melanogaster circadian rhythms. In her final year, she collaborated with Dr. Roland and Dr. Melissa Lehman to create an integrated project conducting a comparative analysis of human and Drosophila melanogaster circadian rhythms. Through her work with Dr.Rowland, Maria developed a strong interest in understanding human circadian rhythms and their impact on daily functioning. She is particularly interested in studying how disrupted circadian rhythms affect children's cognitive development and attachment styles during early childhood.
